A liqueur is a strong alcoholic drink, often enriched with the flavour of fruit, herbs, spices, seeds or other flavour sources, and most are sweet. They are made from a base spirit (grape brandy — "lozovača").
VIŠNJEVAC is a traditional "folk liqueur" made by maceration (steeping) of ripe Dalmatian Marasca cherries in ethyl alcohol (lozovača grape brandy). It has a fruity aroma, a sweet Marasca-cherry taste, and a ruby-red colour that emphasises simplicity, warmth and natural aroma. Ideal for everyday gatherings and family occasions — from an aperitif through to serving with cakes and other desserts.
SMOKOVAČA is a homemade liqueur produced by macerating dried figs in ethyl alcohol (lozovača grape brandy). Figs are a treasure of nutrients — nourishing, rich in vitamins and minerals. The liqueur has a sweet taste and an old-gold colour. It aids digestion and regulates the bowels. Drink it lightly chilled before a meal as an aperitif, or as a digestif with desserts, savoury biscuits or crackers.
ORAHOVAC is a walnut fruit liqueur produced by macerating green walnut fruits in ethyl alcohol (lozovača grape brandy). It has a mildly bitter taste and a nutty aroma. Serve chilled as an aperitif — or as a digestif. A small glass of homemade Orahovac will soothe stomach cramps.
ROGAČ — carob liqueur — is a traditional "folk" homemade liqueur made by macerating dried carob pods in ethyl alcohol (lozovača grape brandy). It has a sweet taste. The liqueur is good for the stomach and soothing if you have digestive complaints. A perfect aperitif for Mediterranean and Dalmatian dishes — serve chilled at 15 °C with dried figs, savoury biscuits and crackers.
OLIVE LIQUEUR is an indigenous Mediterranean speciality — intensely aromatic with a gently bitter taste — produced by macerating ripe black olives of the "Oblica" variety with citrus peel (lemon, orange, grapefruit) and cloves in ethyl alcohol (lozovača grape brandy). It is excellent as an aperitif — served chilled, often with a slice of lemon.
LOZOVAČA-KOMOVICA BRANDY is a traditional strong spirit distilled from fermented grape pomace, characteristic in aroma and taste. It is a symbol of Dalmatian tradition, family warmth and stony perseverance… Serve chilled as an aperitif or welcome drink with fresh or dried figs, and dried grapes. In moderation it has a beneficial effect on overall wellbeing.
TRAVARICA is a traditionally strong homemade brandy-liqueur, made on a base of lozovača-komovica grape brandy and enriched with an aromatic herbal and medicinal-herb macerate (sage, rosemary, mint, St John's wort, fennel…). Greenish in colour, distinctive in aroma, it is known as the finest and most healing Dalmatian digestif — usually served chilled at 8–10 °C. It is also used as a rub for back pain or to disinfect wounds, soothe a sore throat or gums, toothache and digestive complaints.
