Home of sunny days and fertile soil.
The position of our olive groves in the small village of Ljubač is certainly one of the factors contributing to the outstanding quality of the oil. They sit in an exceptionally favourable geographic position — a flysch valley rich in arable land and water, on the slopes of Ljubač hill and right beside the sun-drenched bay of Ljubač that embraces its corner of the Adriatic Sea, making it part of this small but special ecosystem.
Ljubač itself lies 15 km north-west of Zadar, facing the south-eastern part of the island of Pag, in a bay whose entrance is marked by the well-known Pag Bridge. The old part of the village is built in typical coastal style — closely packed houses and narrow streets. It is mentioned as early as 1188 as Kaštel, or Castrum Ljuba, and in 1205 as Castrum Liube, a variant we adopted as part of our brand. In keeping with the natural and geographic conditions, the economic activities that have developed are exactly those that the land allows — primarily agriculture (olive growing) and tourism.
